We will pick you up from your hotel. After 2 hours driving with our unique in comfort and luxury van we will go thru the canyon Vouraikos with the unparalleled beauty. The legend wants Hercules with his sword, cutting in two the rock that closed his passage to reach his beloved Voura .
Our first stop is at Zahlorou, a charming village built in the depths of the lush canyon with its red tiles popping up between tufted trees, maple trees and walnuts, and the river right next to its main road providing the permanent soundtrack. Its most striking image, however, is the imposing cliffs of the gorge that rise around it, creating a sense of natural refuge
We will continue to the cave of the Lakes, unique in its kind, with thirteen natural lakes spread out over three floors. The height of the cave is imposing (the roof is 30 meters above ground) and its illuminated paths wind up beside strange stalactite and stalagmite formations.
We will pass from Planitero at the sources of the Aroan River across a forest of centuries-old enchanted maple trees with the two renowned trout-fish farms serve the region's famed trout.
Nearby is the Mega Spileo an historical monastery of Kalavryta and is built at the opening of a large natural cave (hence the name) of the Helmos mountain, above the steep ravine of the Vouraikos River, at an altitude of 899 meters. Completely in harmony with the wild and spectacular scenery of the area, the eight-floor complex of the Monastery captures even the most indifferent visitor. The cathedral of the monastery is carved on a rock. The main church has frescoes of 1653, remarkable marble floors, wood carving, etc.
Before hitting the road back to Athens we will pass from Feneos with the gorgeous Lake Doxa a ravishing area of Corinth’s highlands designated "Corinthian Switzerland" for its stunning alpine beauty.
Set in a unique landscape of beauty at an altitude of 1500 meters, the Agios Georgios Feneos Male Monastery is located. The view from the monastery's wooden balcony is breathtaking and tranquil, offering the visitor a landscape of rare beauty with the plain of Feneos stretching out in front of it! You cannot leave here without tasting the spoonful of rose that the monks make from the flowers they cultivate in the monastery itself.
